The tough times come despite only one of the four bye-week defenses, Carolina, being a usual starting unit (Jets, 49ers, Colts are the other teams on bye). Perhaps it’s because defenses don’t get to play the Jets, 49ers, or Colts that we’re having so much trouble finding 12 trustworthy starters.
The Cardinals (@ Texans) and Bengals (@ Broncos) are the two best streaming options available on most waiver wires, while the Dolphins (vs. Bucs) and Packers (vs. Ravens) are riskier options with good matchups. Chances are many will take a shot with a “good” defense in a bad matchup, like the Rams (@ Vikings), Vikings (vs. Rams), Eagles (@ Cowboys), or Seahawks (vs. Falcons). This week, that’s probably your best option.
