Cameron Maybin was the value outfielder we were looking for, as the Tigers offense has shown signs of life. Our recommended fade last week, Xander Bogaerts, was good, not great. Certainly he wasn’t quite worth the inflated price it took to roster him as was foretold.

As always, we’re here trying to spot the best values and fades for the upcoming week, so here are the trends, matchups and information you need to know for Week 10 in the world of DFS.
FanDuel and DraftKings strategy
PLAYER AT PEAK SALARY:
Eric Hosmer, 1B, KC ($5.5K Draft Kings)
Hosmer’s price is especially high on DraftKings right now (compared to just $3.5K on FanDuel), and he’s hitting a lull after a torrid end to May. He cracked double-digit points just once in the last week and faces Chris Tillman (who’s been excellent this year) followed by two extraordinarily tough lefties in Chris Sale and Jose Quintana this week. There’s very little chance he returns an investment anything close to $5K. When you consider Miguel Cabrera is available on the same slate for $3.7K and the overall depth at first base, Hosmer is just a bad decision.
PITCHER PRICED BELOW VALUE:
Adam Conley, MIA ($7.6K DraftKings/$8.3K FanDuel)
Toss out his one bad outing against Washington and over his past five starts Conley has been outstanding. His K/9 (9.0) is at an elite level, and the schedule favors him this week with two road starts – the first against the hapless Twins offense and the second against the D-backs. Conley has actually pitched better on the road this year (2.93 road ERA/4.61 home ERA). The D-backs are far from a cake walk, but they are a heavy righthanded lineup and Conley’s holding righties to a .233 BA and a .650 OPS.
HITTER PRICED BELOW VALUE:
Yasmany Tomas, OF, ARI ($3K FanDuel/$3.8K DraftKings)
Tomas has been brutalizing lefthanded pitching this year, slashing a gaudy .327/.397/.635 with a 1.031 OPS. He’ll be facing three lefties this week, starting Tuesday against the Rays’ Matt Moore. His price is especially low on FanDuel Tuesday considering how favorable his splits are versus southpaws. Tomas is limited overall and far from a complete hitter, but this is DFS and all you need is the right situation. Outside of his one matchup versus Jose Fernandez, Tomas could be a player to roll with in multiple lineups all week long.

Daily fantasy baseball hitter strategy
The Mets may have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball, but collectively they are one of the easiest groups to run on in the major leagues. The inability to hold runners on or throw them out means you should bump up the value of some of the speedsters they’ll be playing against this week. Those names include Gregory Polanco, Starling Marte, and Jonathan Villar. All three are strong values anyway, but their chances of adding some steals to their daily totals rises significantly this week.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better for the Cubs, they roll into little old Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, then have a three-game set in Atlanta against a Braves staff that resembles a Triple-A rotation, at best. This is the week Anthony Rizzo will start to really take off, so time to buy his stock in cash games.
The Red Sox juggernaut offense heads out on the road to San Francisco and Minnesota. Don’t let the bigger parks fool you – they’re the best road offense in baseball. Take advantage of the perception that away from Fenway they’re not the same because it’s simply not true.
