No matter what happens, it’s important to stick to your gut. If you believe that a certain receiver is going to break out even in a bad matchup, start him. If you think a top player might have more issues this week than some are letting on, don’t necessarily sit him, but at least consider your other options. These rankings are meant to be a guide, but as is the case with all aspects of fantasy football, go with the guys that you both like and believe in.
Of course, injuries are having an impact on these rankings as well. Alshon Jeffery would have been a top-20 play if he was healthy, and Doug Baldwin falls a bit as he returns from a knee injury against a tough secondary. Josh Gordon’s murky status also has him ranked lower than normal, as we’d like to see some progress out of him before we entrust him with anything more than a WR3 role.
