The giant sucking sound you heard last week was Americs’s collective gasp upon learning that Joey Buttafuoco actually did have sex with Amy Fisher. After 17 months of denials, the New York fender fixer owned up to the illicit bodywork last Tuesday in a Long Island courtroom. “On July 2, 1991, I had sexual relations with Amy Fisher at the Freeport Motel,” Joey told the judge. Like Mary Jo Buttafuoco, we were, well, shocked. Joey pleaded guilty to one count of statutory rape in a bargain with prosecutors, and faces up to six months in jail. Amy is expected to shovel some fresh dirt when she testifies at Joey’s sentencing next month.
Buttafuoco’s been around the block, but even he must have been flabbergasted by the startling suggestion that Playboy Playmate of the Year and Guess? jeans model Anna Nicole Smith may have more than DNA to thank for her DD bust line. The once flat-chested Smith has ascribed the expansion to her 1986 pregnancy. After the birth of her son, she says, the extra weight came off everywhere but her breasts. Trouble is, US magazine’s new issue carries a postpartum pic of the model looking less than stacked. But believers, take heart: Smith says she was anorexic when the shot was snapped. She’s “outraged and insulted” by the suggestion that her natural beauty may have been artificially augmented, and assures fans “it’s all mine.” Whew. Just goes to show what kind of trouble you can get into if you believe everything you read. Next we’ll be hearing that Burt Reynolds wears a toupee.
