That’s what happened at the Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes in Hardeeville, S.C., on Thursday. One golfer, Matthew Proffitt, captured the video and provided a 15-second clip to the club’s Facebook account — though they reportedly fought off and on for two hours.
In the clip, the two gators have their jaws locked on each other; the top has a clear hold of its opponent’s upper jaw, while the lower one has the lower jaw and leg.

A stark reminder that alligators not only are terrifying, but also don’t care a lick about your golf outing.
