The Treehouse event will likely give a closer look at some of the games revealed Thursday night, but may also include some additional announcements. At this point, the Switch launch day titles are kind of slim pickings with both Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey arriving months after launch (optimistically). It may seem dangerous for Nintendo to launch a console without a companion Mario title, but Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be there on March 3 to help motivate consumers to pick up the new hardware.

Gamers will be able to pick on the Nintendo Switch on March 3 for $299 if they are lucky enough to find one. If Nintendo’s previous console launches are any indication, it seems very likely that fans can expect this hardware to be in short supply for the first few months. Some retailers have opened pre-order sales, so locking in a purchase now may be the best path to playing Breath of the Wild on the Switch launch day.
